Business Contact Manager without Exchange?

Hello,

It is possible to use Business Contact Manager 2010 without Exchange? We have a small office without exchange (we use gmail) and I'd like to buy Outlook 2010 licenses so everyone can share email strings of customers.

Is it correct that I could set up a machine with Outlook and BCM on it and then share it with the rest of the office? Would then sales leads go into that specific machine's emails?

I use the Hotmail connector for Outlook 2010 and only have my own Hotmail accounts in outlook.

We also have a small office. Our company e-mail comes in on another PC. I just use the database on that main pc remotely. I can work on the database without having access to the company mail.

You do need an account of whatever e-mailaddress set-up in Outlook to get Outlook running. After that you can use Business Contact Manager with whatever database you want.

I this doesn't answer your question: could you maybe be more specific about the situation etc.? :)
