How to get a QR code for automatic signin with Outlook for iOS

Between us my wife and I have two iPhones and two iPads on which we want to use Outlook for iOS. The initial screen for Outlook for iOS refers to a QR code "on your computer," but it's not clear how I get this code. I expected an email from MS, but I haven't gotten one. That would save a lot of time, including typos, doing password entry.

I'm hoping to use Outlook for iOS to get around the complete message with iTunes synchronization for Outlook.

Ok... in Outlook mobile app, click on the Add account button (skip adding accounts the app knows about) - then in the upper right corner, click the QR code icon. Then scan the code to add the account to Outlook.
