Outlook Options can not be saved

I have Outlook 2010 (32-bit) installed on Windows 7 (64-bit). Although I select select certain options (by going to: File => Options => Mail => Editor Options => Advanced), and click 'OK', the settings will revert back to default when I close Outlook. I have tried many things to correct it, without success. Any assistance will be appreciated.
