Outlook converts sent email to txt attachments when sync

When I send email from my yahoo email account using my Samsung S8+ native email app in html format, it synchronizes with my Sent folder in Outlook on my Surface Pro as a blank message with .txt attachments. If I check my yahoo email account on the web, the sent messages retain their html format. The reformatting only occurs in Outlook. Is there a setting I can change in Outlook to prevent this from happening?
