Outlook on 3 Computers Shows Different Total Items on Same Account

I have several desktop and laptop computers with the current version of Outlook running in Windows 10. I never looked at the item number counts very closely until tonight when I had to rebuild some profiles. The same email account on 3 different computers shows a different number of unread items in the inbox. The account is an outlook.com account. Why would the numbers be different? (I have over 11,000 items, so to do a comparison to find the differences is probably out of the question. TIA.
 
Are you sync all items on all computers? Go to File > Account Settings > Account Settings to open the Account Settings dialog. Double click on the account and look at the sync settings.

If you need to reset a folder, right click on it and choose properties then click clear offline items. This will resync the folder. The counts should match then.

I logged into my account through a web browser and got a fourth different number for unread inbox items!

I went through your clicks and ended at a dialog that shows username and Offline Settings. Offline Settings has a greyed-out checkmark and the slider is at 1 year. I did not see any "sync settings." This is true on all machine.

I did the "clear offline items" and it emptied my inbox!!! Where did my mail go? Dialog box, "Your data was removed from your Outlook data file (.ost)
