Repair Outlook

All of a sudden a dialog box keeps popping up saying Repair Outlook This will clear local settings and any unsaved Outlook data. Do you want to continue? I select no but the box keeps coming back. The only way to get rid of it temporarily is to reboot. I have Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2019 Outlook. I use Outlook to pull in my gmail only and in account setting for Outlook the type is IMAP/SMTP

I am using Microsoft Outlook 2019 MSO (Version 2410 Build 16.0.18129.20158) 64-bit and Windows 11 home version 23H2 (OS Build 22631.4430

Can someone help me get rid of the dialog box I do not want to clear or lose any data.

Are you using classic Outlook or new outlook? The part about clearing local settings and data sounds like new outlook. If you arent sure - do you have a File tab on the left of the ribbon? Yes= classic outlook, no=new outlook.

What type of email account do you have configured in Outlook? POP, IMAP, Outlook.com, or Microsoft Exchange?

FWIW, I would probably do the repair if new outlook.

I believe it is classic Outlook as I have never heard of new outlook.
I have File/ home/send receive/ folder/ view/help tabs at the top if that is what you mean.
I only pull in my gmail account into outlook and it is IMAP.

My outlook is working find other that that dialog box. Any reason why can't I just end task on the dialog box?

Do you have “(This computer only)" folders for calendar & contacts? Export the contents of those folders (and the tasks folder, if you use tasks.) then try repairing.

It doesn't say the data file is corrupt, but if that is triggering the error message, running scanpst on the data file might help.

Yes I have this computer, the only one I have. I ended task on the new outlook and it has not popped or nor have I had any problems with Outlook. Do you think what you suggested I still need to do? Not sure I would know how

If it is working now, I would not worry about it. If it happens again - export calendar & contacts (and tasks if you use) to either CSV or a new PST (as insurance) then run scanpst on the file.

If you have calendar and contacts in folders named “(This computer only)"

Export - at step 4, choose calendar or contacts (assuming you are using either or both) then rerun export and choose the other - they can both go into the same pst. This is just for insurance, in most cases, scanpst will not corrupt the contents of those folders.
