Outlook /resetnavpane deleted all IMAP accounts

After receiving a message "Cannot start Microsoft Outlook. Cannot open the Outlook window. Invalid XML, the view cannot be loaded", I ran Outlook /resetnavpane which deleted all 21 of my IMAP email accounts leaving the 1 exchange one. I just wanted to know if this is supposed to happen. Also do you know what caused this error message ?
 
I'm more inclined to think the accounts were gone but left on the navigation bar - because all it does is reset the bar to the default, it doesn't affect accounts.
