Just had nasty shock. Using my Office 365 on Win 10x64 (shortly to move to new PC) I went to search for a contact. I noticed that search seemed to be taking ages and did not find (I had the Contacts in a customised 'Xmas card' view).
Switching to 'People' view, I was confronted by the ghastly, dumbed down 'AB' 'BC' type coloured icons that I have seen in Outlook.com
(this 'People' view may be a new view slyly inserted by Outlook and not noticed by yours truly - when I go to 'Business Cards', my usual view, it reverts to the 'usual' text only Outlook view of contacts).
My question is... is this 'People' view new, and is it just a new way for Outlook to display local .pst data (fine, though I won't use), or are all my contact currently being hoovered into Microsoft for their personal profit? (not so fine)
(I have to use Hotmail/Outlook.com occasionally for a local residents' association, and find it appallingly slow and clunky. Generally I use the 'Connector' thang to sync the Association's emails and contacts so they show in my desktop Outlook also, which works fairly fine.
Thanks.
