I've successfully created an Outlook stationary template, but the font size keeps going to 11pts whenever I create a new email using this stationary. I've looked at my default font settings and they appear to be at 14pts, which is what I would like as a default. This has become very frustrating. Any help??

Thanks.

Additional detail: The custom stationary I created has a background image that was inserted using the COLOR option method. Also, I am using a signature for this stationary. A pecularity is whenever I create a new message, I see 4 lines above my signature. All of those lines are set to 11pts. I never created those lines anywhere, either in the stationary itself or the signature file.

In a new message without stationery, is that the same font used for the message text? If so, it's using the default font settings. Is the default something like Font Name (+Body) or just Font Name?

Without stationary (or signature) the font is Calibri, 14pts. No +Body designation. Interesting thing too is when I have the stationary applied, 4 blank lines show up above the signature. They come up as follows:

Line 1 = Calibri (body) 11 pts

Line 2 = Calibri 14 pts

Line 3 = Calibri 14 pts

Line 4 = Calibri (body) 11 pts

I never inserted these lines to my knowledge and have no way to remove them... unless I remove the stationary, of course. If I apply signatures, it seems to maintain the 14pt and only adds 2 lines above the signature, which is fine. I'm just wondering why when I apply the stationary, it adds two more lines (one above and one below), both @ 11pts.

It's obviously the stationery. :)

do you use 14 pt for everything? if so, you need to set the body format to that.

See Understanding Fonts and the +Body Style - Slipstick Systems - short version is:

1. open a new message form

2. switch to the Format text tab

3. expand the Change Style button

4. choose your preferred fonts (and colors & spacing, if desired)

5. when finished, click on Set as Default

Now every that uses the body format will be 14 pt. I'd also go into Font setting (Control panel, mail, stationery & fonts) and set +body as the default.

I have to tell you, I've done what you recommend and I'm still getting extra lines above the signature line of various font size. I even deleted the stationery and signature I created and started fresh. Now I have 5 blank lines above the signature. I used to have 4. It's frustrating. I KNOW there are no lines at all when I created the stationery, but they sure appear with every instance of a new message. Something is doing this. Maybe I'm doing something, but I'm really at a loss. Any help is appreciated.

I opened the HTML file in Notepad and checked the coding.

Two things affected it:

The default font was set to 11 pt.

Code:
 /* Style Definitions */
p.MsoNormal, li.MsoNormal, div.MsoNormal

	{mso-style-unhide:no;

	mso-style-qformat:yes;

	mso-style-parent:"";

	margin:0in;

	margin-bottom:.0001pt;

	mso-pagination:widow-orphan;

	font-size:11.0pt;

	font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif";

And at the bottom, there were 3 lines in the stationary. The middle one is 'correct' but all 3 can be deleted, leaving just

Code:
<div class=WordSection1
</div
<div class=WordSection1
<p class=MsoNormal style='mso-layout-grid-align:none;text-autospace:none'><span

style='mso-ascii-font-family:Calibri;mso-hansi-font-family:Calibri;mso-bidi-font-family:

Calibri;color:black'><o:p> </o:p></span></p
<p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p
<p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:14.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:11.0pt;

mso-ascii-font-family:Calibri;mso-hansi-font-family:Calibri'><o:p> </o:p></span></p
</div
