How to know the email sender (windows logon profile) from a Shared Mailbox

Hi!

I'm hoping someone can offer suggestions for this situation:

1. There are 2 persons who share a 'position' and email address (position@company.com).

2. They do not possess any other email addresses aside from the one they share

3. They are both given 'Send As' permissions to 'positiom@company.com'
A) Person 1
Name: Joe Blogs
Windows (AD) Profile: Jblogs
B) Person 2
Name; John Doe
Windows (AD) Profile: Jdoe

4. Please recommend a way (hopefully easy and fool proof) that will help identify the actual sender of the email (Jdoe vs Jblogs).
NOTE: We tried adding an 'automated signature via a Transport Rule that looks at the AD variable %%UserLogonName%% hoping that this would give me the answer... Unfortunately, what I got was 'position' instead of Jdoe/Jblogs.

They share the mailbox but do they each have their own outlook profile? If they use separate profiles, you can use Outlook signatures to add their name to the message. It's not perfect as they can change it.

You could also use VBA to add identification as the message is sent.

Sorry for the late reply.

That is actually my biggest problem, they don't have their own Outlook Profiles (although they have their own AD Profile). Much worse, this is a common set-up across 2000+ positions. :(

I was just hoping that there is a fool proof way to identify the AD Profile that is using the Outlook Profile such that people can't change it.
