Rebuilding Outlook 2013 from Outlook.com after OS rebuild

I have a working Outlook.com / Outlook 2013 EAS account that syncs all the standard stuff. My Windows 7 is not working 100% (can't restore from restore points amongst other things) and I want to rebuild my OS from a Image I took right after I built it originally.

Of course back then I did not have an EAS account, just IMAP's attached to email accounts. I've searched the internet looking for advice but came up empty.

My question. Given my Outlook.com accounts contains my contacts, tasks and calendar when I add the EAS account to this old Outlook 2013 profile will it populate my Outlook 2013 (contacts, tasks, calendar) or will it see a blank Outlook 2013 causing it to delete all the contents in outlook.com account?

My second question would be - Is it recommended that I start Outlook 2013 after the rebuild with a new profile and add the EAS account and IMAP mail accounts. If so why?

I've taken backups of tasks, contacts and calendar but would like to understand the behavior before I start.

when you make a new profile and add that account, it will sync everything down to the computer, it won't delete them.

I'm not really i understand the question - if you are rebuilding windows, you will lose the profile unless you export the profile registry key. As long as the computer name stays the same, you can do this and save some time. No need to save *.ost file, outlook will recreate them.

This isn't a rebuild from scratch / cd. When I originally installed Windows, the drivers and all the programs, including Outlook I made sure everything worked. Once everything was running I cloned the drive so I would have a fresh, working starting point. Your response did get me thinking and the outlook would be the 2010 version from the original build. I guess I will have to uninstall 2010 and replace with 2013. I believe this will force the new profile build.
