Outlook Appointment item does not show the item outside the date range

Hi,
I have one more small query. I am giving the date range to display the appointment items(including recursion items) from shared calendar.But I am not getting the item which was start before my StartDate and still is in progress in my date range.

E.g. I am giving StartDate=12-12-2012 and EndDate=13-12-2012 and one of Shared Calendar item was start on 10-12-2012 and its EndDate is 16-12-2013. Still I am not getting this item on my date range. Please resolve this.

It's an AND search and only returns items between those dates. You'd need to use an end date search - ends between date1 and date2.

Items that recur or cover more than one day are a single event and outlook doesn't look at each date within the event, only at the start and end times.

This should work in an instant search: start:>5/1/2013 end:<5/21/2013 but you will need to cover the last date you are looking for, unless you use an OR search - but the results will include everything up to the end date
