Outlook Calendar Appointment Problem

One of my clients works in an Exchange environment. When she forwards a Calendar entry to another employee, the employee receives a vcalendar attachment that opens as a Calendar entry on their copy of Outlook.

When she sends the same email to me via POP3 email, the attachment is simply a forwarded email message, with the vcalendar text as the email body.

When I forward her a calendar entry, she receives it properly.

Is this an Outlook configuration issue, or an issue of Exchange vs POP3 message processing?
 
I guess it's more like a little of both. Outlook's default is to convert RTF to HTML when sending to an internet address plus the Exchange server can be configured to never send RTF to the internet. Either of those settings can make meetings and forwarded appointments not work.

Is she inviting your or forwarding the appointment to you?

If forwarding, she should choose the option to forward as an ical.

If iniviting, have her check the setting in Tools, Options, Calendar - 'when sending over the internet, use ical format' should be checked.
