Duplicate calendar entries in Outlook 365

My wife uses Outlook 365 with Windows 10. Some (but not all) entries she adds to her Outlook calendar are immediately duplicated. One of the duplicates can be deleted, but it's annoying to have to do that. Any ideas what might be causing the duplications?
 
Thanks so much for the quick reply, Diane. Yes, she's using Outlook on her desktop computer and it's part of Microsoft 365, not outlook.com. No, she's never used macros and she doesn't use any sync software (and certainly not OneDrive).

However, she does sync Outlook between her desktop and her iPhone. She looks at Outlook on her iPhone, but very rarely adds anything there. And the calendar item duplication that appears on her desktop does not appear on her iPhone.

Any clues there?

My wife's annoying problem continues and we've not yet found a cause or a solution. Anybody out there with ideas or suggestions?
