Outlook 2021 Can anyone explain why my Outlook views keep changing?!

Recently I've made a few changes to my view settings (I use several views in Outlook for different purposes) - mainly adding a few extra conditional formatting options (which I find very helpful for prioritising emails).

Everything was fine for a day or two then, suddenly some (but not all) of my conditional formatting options disappeared and then, to my amazement, a day or two later they returned. Today they've disappeared again. On each occasion I was not aware of doing anything that might have prompted the change.

Does anyone understand what's going on here and can offer advice on what to do about it please? Its driving me crazy, but I can't believe I'm the only person who's experiencing it. Thanks.
 
You customized the default view? Next time it comes back, make a copy of the view. (Or just make a copy of the view.)

Using the default can cause the view to be reset when you switch folders - I have not seen it come back later, but if the view was applied to more than one folder, it's possible.
 
All the settings came back part way during the day! The view I'm talking about is called InboxVD, which started as a copy of Compact (which I assume is the default view you've referred to). I've now made a copy of InboxVD.

Diane, I know you've written about locking views but will that prevent such views making the sort of peculair changes I'm experiencing, or does it just prevent one changing to another view (which I would not want as I use several).
