Duplicate items in contact custome form

Hi,

There is a great feature in outlook contact folder. When you try to copy similar contact in to the contacts folder, a "Duplicate contact detected" windows will popup and ask you to choose to keep it or change. I created a custom contact form with a default contact template. This feature does not apply to this contact form. The "duplicate contact detected" windows does not popup when I try copy a similar contact to the contact folder. In the beginning I thought i created a "bad" form. But it happened even if i created a custom contact form base on the contact default without any modifications. I know KB299349 about removing duplicate contact but I am after getting the "Duplicate contact detected window" to popup even if this a custom contact form. Any ideas?

That process only works with the default form, not custom forms.




The method in the KB only works if you import - if they are created at different times, you need to delete each one yourself or use a duplicate remove tool. (Some of the tools listed there are free and work with other folder types too.)
