Remove shared Contacts duplicate entry

Using Outlook 2007 on Exchange, Department director delegates OL Contacts to Assistant with Editor permissions. Assistant is able to view, edit, delete contacts for director but Department directors contact list appears twice in the "People's Contacts" section of the Outlook Navigation Pane. When I right click on the name Delete "name" is greyed out and unavailable.

You can close and restart Outlook using the /resetnavpane switch, but it will reset the navpane to the default, removing any folders the user added to any of the navigation panes. If they have a lot of custom folders on the Favorites list, they might decide two folders are less annoying than redoing the navpane.

Is the directors mailbox opened using the option to open a second mailbox in the profile?
 
It looks like its opened as a second mailbox and since you can't open them twice, the navpane is corrupt. Before using /resetnavpane switch, I would remove the secondary account from the profile and restart Outlook. Then add it back as a secondary. If that doesn't fix it, you'll need to use the /resetnavpane switch.
