Duplicate emails from pop but only for certain date range?

Hi, I wonder if I could get a hand in solving this weird problem, I've had duplicate emails from pop accounts before but this is a new one on me. :confused:

Ok so I have a computer with Outlook 2007 sp3. Every time it sends/receives it brings in the same 65 emails that were received between the 3rd and the 8th of this month. New ones come through too but they only get received once.

I turned off 'leave a message on the server' which cleaned out the talktalk webmail but still they come.

PST is 200mb

Any ideas? Thanks in advance!
 
So there is no mail on the server, except for new mail that is not yet downloaded but you are getting old mail?

What antivirus do you use? If those messages are not on the server but outlook downloads copies, it's likely they are stuck in a virus/spam scanner that integrates with outlook.

Does it happen if you use safe mode? To open Outlook in Safe mode: Close Outlook then hold Ctrl as you click on the Outlook icon. You'll get a message asking if you want to start in Safe mode. Click Ok.
 
So no word of a lie this is what's happening. Since clearing out the Talktalk end the amount of duplicate emails coming through is dropping by one every time I press send and receive! I'll just put up with the duplicates until it reaches zero and then reinstate LMoS again. Very odd!

This is with safe mode and without btw.
