duplicate e-mails from gmail?

I'm currently receiving duplicate emails from gmail when I have the account linked to my outlook. The same goes for my other school e-mail which I also have linked. The strange thing is not every e-mail I receive is duplicated. Another thing is that I tried to disable forwarding from the other two e-mail accounts but when I do so I stop receiving e-mails altogether. I'm not really sure what to do.
 
It sounds like forwarding is the problem. Because you mention linking the accounts, I assume there is an Outlook.com account in the mix?

Are the gmail and school accounts configured in Outlook (on your desktop)? Are you using IMAP or POP3?

If the accounts are set up in Outlook and also linked to Outlook.com, you will get duplicates in Outlook.
