When I bought Outlook version 2010 to go with my Office 2010 home version previously bought, the Outlook installation caused this error: "Found problem OFFICE (32-bit) could not be installed because 64 bit office programs are already installed on your computer." When I phoned tech support at MicroSoft, he seemed totally confused and I ended up wanting to get a refund rather than let him walk me through changes to my new computer.
Apparently, I will have the choice of buying 64 bit Outlook rather than 32 bit Outlook.
My question for now is: Should I buy a 2010 version or 2013 version of Outlook (64 bit) if I want to simplify the moving of my Contact Data (only) saved to an external Hard Drive that was formerly compiled using OUTLOOK 2000 on a now defunct Windows XP PC computer.
Does M/S expert, Diane Poremsky, or some other blogger have a reason for recommending one year's version over the other when dealing with transfer of only Contact Data from Outlook Version 2000?? Am I in the right forum for this question? Thanks!
