I'd written a tool/macro for my outlook 2010 inbox attachments that has worked fine several years; recent updates via MS Update -I apply all critical per MS, and now the VBA project file is 'file not found'.
However the VbaProject.OTM file is there in ...roaming/Microsoft/outlook folder. alt-F11 and the editor shows no project open, nor are any of the menu commands enabled (import/ new, etc.) that might allow me to set the connection to the file again. The only menus not disabled are the help menu and the view to show various editor windows.
I have already tried repairing the Office 2010 but that didn't resolve the issue. I also removed the VBA option via the "add/remove features" for the suite, then repeated to re-install the VBA office add-in. I also changed the outlook VBA add-in registry key's LoadBehavior data item value from 9 (load on demand) to the default of 3 (load at start up) and this also did not change the situation.
as I open Outlook, the splash screen displays, loading the add-ins, then when the macro dialog asks the "thisOutlookSession" macro enable/disable, I elect to enable and immediately get the "file not found," and alt-F11 to open the editor gives me an empty, disabled environment. As noted above the file had always and still does exist at %appdata%\Microsoft\Outlook.
what might have happened, and how do I get the VBA environment working again? any registry or file changes or configurations, please help me get this corrected. Thank you!
