Is it possible to use string manipulation in Outlook VBA?

I need the first 14 digits of an email address for processing concerns.

Correct. VBA is pretty much the same between the office apps and in many cases, the same as VB. There are a few functions that Excel supports and Outlook doesn't, but left, right, trim, mid instr, instrrev are all supported in outlook.
