Outlook Locks up After Sitting Idle

When switching from a PC with Windows 7 to a new PC with Windows 8.1 pretty much everything went smoothly except moving Outlook 2010. O M G ! ! This has been SO frustrating.

Thanks to what I've read on your site, I created a new profile. It worked fine for about a day then it started giving the aggravating "access denied" error. I noticed that it only does this after it sit idle for a while. After I get that error, I have to completely reboot my computer to get Outlook working again.

Any ideas on how to fix this? Should I go in a delete the old profile? Do you think it's still causing issues?
 
What addins do you use? Antivirus? Backup software? It sounds more like something to hooking into the pst when outlook is idle.

Try running outlook in safe mode and see if you get the same error. If not, it's like any addin.

To open Outlook in Safe mode: Close Outlook then hold Ctrl as you click on the Outlook icon. You'll get a message asking if you want to start in Safe mode. Click Ok.
