Open multiple contacts in NEW Outlook?

Is it possible to have multiple contacts open simultaneously in the new Outlook? I need multiple contact records open so I can access the notes and be able to copy and/or update the info contained therein. New Outlook's design seems to limit me to opening just one contact at a time, and that notes are merely an afterthought (tiny text fields, have to open the contact, then select Edit before you can actually see/edit notes). For me, this makes new Outlook unusable. Is this an issue for anyone else? I've searched here and web-wide, but found no one mentioning Outlook's "no multiple contacts for you!" design. Does anyone have a workaround?
 
You can open multiple contacts.... in a roundabout way. You need to open a new Contacts window for each contact you want to view.

(There is a lot more than this that makes new Outlook unusable. :))
 
BTW, to see the notes without going into Edit, click on Show more contact information or contact tab at the top. (Show more switches to contact tab.) Once you are on the Contacts tab, switching to other contacts will keep you on the contacts tab.
