Event when creating task from mailitem

I'm dragging mailitems from my inbox to the tasks icon in bottom left of outlook window. I need the task I create to contain either the attachments from the original mailitem, or a link to the original mailitem.

No point me creating a task from a mail item only to have to go searching for the original mailitem to get the details/reference material.

Obviously, to do this, I need to trigger an event when the task is created and be able to reference the mailitem it was created from. Any ideas how to achieve this?

Right-click and drag should give you the option to add as attachment.... but if you don't need to drag and can use a macro - you can select the message, click a button and create the task.

I have a macro that copies the body with formatting - attaching the message is optional.

An Outlook user wanted to know how to create a task from an email message but only include the actionable part of the message in the task. Easy: drag the selection to the Task or Calendar folder or use a macro.

That doesn't do the pretty body, but can add the message as an attachment. Adding a link is not hard but it will only work if you don't move the message after you create the link. (It's a good idea for a sample macro tho,)
