Outlook 2016 Calendar multiday event display

Does anyone know when the Outlook 2016 will be updated to correct the issue where events that span midnight show up as all day events.

I am talking about an event that, let's say, starts at 9am on one day and ends at 10am the next only shows as a bar in the all day section ( with all hours in between showing in light color shade.

I have read threads that this change was intentionally implemented by Microsoft in December 2015 but then reverted back for Outlook 2010 in March 2016. The reversal was promised for Outlook 2013 and Outlook 2016 in the near future. I have latest 2016 version (Office 365) where the problem is still present.

Does anyone know?
 
What is your build # and do you have all updates installed? It should be back to normal in both 2013 and 2016 C2R builds. If not, check for updates. If you have a volume license MSI build it should be out "soon" - they are 4 months behind c2r.
 
Diane, thanks for the prompt reply.

I am not sure what you mean by build #. I have Microsoft Outlook 2016 MSO (16.0.7127.1021) 32-bit as part of a home Office 365 subscription. If I request office updates, it tells me that I am up to date.
 
That is the newest build. I missed that your example times were more than 24 hours. The behavior of timed events that span 2 days but are less than 24 hours should be displayed like "normal" appointments. More than 24 hours will have the appearance of all day/time events merged.

These are from 2016 and 2010 - less than 24 don't have the all day banner but more than 24 do.

My write up on the change that was rescinded - Appointments That Extend Past Midnight Appear Wrong (Fixed)

This is how monthly views are supposed to look - less than 24 hours look like single appt on each day. The change spread them across 2 days, as if they were all day events spanning multiple days. More than 24 hours are treated as all days events (because they are, technically, all day + some)
