Need help updating email in Outlook 2021

I changed my password for YouTube TV becasue I was having signin problems. once I chnaged the password for YouTube TV my Outlook 2021 for Gmail doesn't work. I tried going to account settings and update password in Outlook 2021 after changing the password in Google but every time I try to update the password in outlook 2021 it gives me the small login popup window saying it can't connect and when I go to File>account settings>update password it never works, keeps saying something went wrong.
I know 1000% that the password is correct, I used it to sign in to YouTube TV and copy and pasted the password into YouTube TV amd then tried to paste it in Outlook 2021 update password but it keeps tellingme something went wrong.

after reading the link from Diane about app passwords I remember 3-4 years ago having to use the app password. I went into my Google account and 2 step was already enabled since June 2022 I created another app password and then in Oulook 2021 I followed the tutorial on how to enter the app password in Outlook 2021 File>account settings> update password pasted the app password in the update password spot but nothing happens. still Oulook 2021 isn't working.

I sure I am doing some little thing wrong and I hope domeone will look at this and maybe have suggestions.
 
Tried removing spaces still no luck getting Gmail and Outlook 2021 not connecting. In Google or any of Google's products if a password is changed it changes all Google products like Gmail,YouTube, YouTube TV etc. So I have tried both way and still no luck.

I went back and read the thread back in 2023 about this same issue and I maded etailed notes but evn after following my own note and the steps in the linked tutorial above both ways it still won't wotk??????

Using POP for Gmail I have Office 2021 which includes Outlook 2021 not the web outlook client.

That rules out switching to OAuth and auto account setup. (No OAuth with POP).

Sorry. I'm stumped. If someone else doesn't pick up this thread you might want to try again with a new question so it gets more visibility.
 
Thanks Hornblower, Hoping Diane happens to see this thread she has always been very helpful. I'm also reading the old thread back in 2023 about this issue and also reading my very detailed notes I made and kept on my computer. I'm wondering it removing 2 Step then rebooting and going back in and putting 2 step back on and try creating a new app password. Just trying evrything.
 
If your POP is set for "Leave email on the server".

If you're trying everything. Here's one more.

Create a whole new profile. That will ignore any past/current account settings.
Create an Outlook profile - Microsoft Support

Add the GMail account. Make sure you choose "Advanced Setup" or it will auto add it as an IMAP with OAuth.

If it doesn't work, just switch back to your original profile.
 
Update:

I finally figured out my issues and now everythign is working as it should. Thanks Hornblower for your help. I was having issues with logging into my YouTube TV account. I thought why not change the password to see if that helps. It made a mess, I forgot that when you change a password with any Google product that password is used for all google things, Gmail, YouTube and YouTube TV etc. I knew this I just forgot about it. So to make a long story shorter, somehow in Google I did someone that ended locking me out of my google account becasue I had too many attemtps logging in. So my issue with Outllok and gmail got a lot worse since I couldn't log into my Google account. I finally fixed it and created an app passsword updated that app password in Outlook 2021 and now I get my Gmail in Outllok 2021 as I always did.
