Message Count not updating

I have several email accounts so I set up a few favorites to keep track of my most used daily items.

However although my emails download fine the message count total does not update unless I manually click on the favorites folder.

This means that I don't know that a batch of emails have arrived unless I manually click on each favorite.

Any ideas as to why this is happening and how to fix it would be gratefully appreciated.
 
That is an issue with the imap account - the count should update when Outlook does its regular mail passes (default is 30 min, if you change it, keep it over 5 min) but if you click on a folder between passes, it will refresh the folder and go get new mail.

If its doing it even during the mail passes, I'm not sure of a fix. Do make sure you have SP1 installed - it fixes some issues with IMAP accounts (like the new mail envelope).
 
Mine was set to the default 30 mins but it seemed to be doing the email downloads but not updating the count on the favorite folders.

I have had a favorite which showed no count for over a week, clicked on it and found out that I actually had 500+ emails sitting there for days.

Since your post I have tried loads of combinations of changing the default time, turning auto send/receive on and off, rebooting outlook, etc and now the counts seem to be working.

I have it set to 15 mins now and so far all counts are showing up as expected.

I'm not sure why this is now the case but I will keep track of it to see if it continues.

Hopefully the days of manually clicking every favorite is over (fingers crossed).
