PgUp and PgDn don't work for displayed message content (but do for web pages)

PgUp and PgDn keys do not work on the message content view. It does not matter if the content is rendered or not.
Does anyone have any explanation?

This is in classic outlook, correct?

In reading pane: use spacebar to move down the reading pane - page up and down only work if the reading pane is active (as in, you click in it or on the scrollbar) - otherwise page up and down go up and down the message list.

space bar only goes down - and once you get to the end of a message, it brings up the next one.

page up and down should work if you have the message open in a new window.

Outlook in MS365. In the reading pane, spacebar has no effect. If the reading pane is active, page up and page down have no effect. Page up and page down do work if the message is in an open window.
 
Space bar works in new Outlook (and should in on the web since they use the same code) - but you need to click or tab into the reading pane or have the message open. But, like the arrow keys, only works on the selected message. In classic Outlook it moves you to the next message - basically, an early version of continuous scrolling.

Same for page up and down - you need to click in the reading pane for those keys to work.

Thank you. PageUp and PageDown work for a message opened in a window. But they do not work for the message in the reading pane, even though I have clicked into the reading pane. But I saw you say "tab into the reading pane" and when I do that, the keys do work. But it is a little annoying to tab into the reading pane, because the first tab takes the focus to the flag icon in the message in the list, and the second tab takes the focus into the message in the reading pane.
