Can anyone please help me?

I just installed outlook 2010 on windows 7 and set it up with my gmail account everything seems to work ok except my sent emails don't appear in the sent mail folder when i check the sent folder in gmail thay are all there but i can't see them in outlook. I have checked the "Save copies of messages in Sent items folder" Box the mail options menu but still no sent mail in the box.

Can anyone help - I'm not too techo literate so please keep the answers simple.

Thanks for the reply.

When I go to File I get Account Settings which will let me add and remove accounts but that is it! Am I doing something wrong or looking in the wrong place or using a different version of outlook?

I have also tried going to the sent mail folder and right click then select properties but all i get is General , Homepage, Auto Archive - none of these gives me anything to change the settings !!!!!

Please Help!

Thanks for both of your replies I have managed to get the sent items saved but I get 2 copies of everything! I am saving them to the server, is this the best way to do it?

Thanks again for all the help.

It seems this is an IMAP account you're having problems with, correct?

If this is the case, uncheck the option to save sent mail locally and add the server "Sent" folder to the list of your subscribed folders.

Is this a gmail account? See 2 copies of sent items. It's how gmail 'works' - you can either take dmitry's advice and not save sent items or save locally (you'll still have 2, but only 1 in the online sent folder).

Thankyou to all. I took Dimity's advice and now only get 1 copy of sent mail.

This forum is great! Thankyou to all of you who help techo challenged ladies like me!!!

I had the same problem and followed this trend and it helped tremendously. Also, I am having a similar problem with my drafts, they are not there; any solutions? Thanks

Dennis
