Outlook 2010 is Auto Purging when not configured for that

I have used Outlook 2010 for many years. whenever I delete an email from an IMAP folder it crosses through and I have to hit the purge button to actually delete which is what I want as it allows an undelete.
I have just updated Windows 10 to v1903 and now Outlook is automatically deleting purged emails as soon as the folder is switched. There is a setting for this and it is NOT set yet it still deletes on exit or folder switch.
