Outlook 2010 keeps asking for username and password

Outlook version
Email Account
POP3
New Windows 7 setup. Clean new install.
Same with Office Pro Academic 2010
Nothing in Credentials

When setting up a new gmail or comcast account, a box up asking for username and password.
I'm using pop settings. Neither responded to imap.

did you enable 'insecure access' or are you using two factor authentication? The first is required if you don't use the second, in which case you need to use the app password. (if you used gmail in outlook before, its probably not the first but could be the second.)
