I am sure this has been asked and answered, but I have searched and cannot find. :(

I have a bunch of defined views for my Outlook folders that are in a PST file. I am switching this account to IMAP. I need to have these same views on the IMAP folders, and I cannot get the views to copy. Using "Apply Current View to Other Mail Folders...," I am able to copy the system defined views like "Sent To." I go to the IMAP folder, click on "Manage Views," and I am able to save that view to the IMAP folder.

I am unable to do this for my user defined views. I receive no error message when I execute "Apply Current..." The view does not appear when I manage the views for the IMAP folder. I have about eight of them, and it would take some time to reconstruct them for the IMAP folders.

Any ideas?

Diane - thanks for your response. I have been to your Outlook Tips web site before when looking for an answer or a plug in.

I have inserted a couple of screen shots to show my problem. At some point, it will have been easier to manually copy the view, but I am still looking for an answer.

The shot on the left is IMAP, and the shot on the right is POP. I know the data looks the same, but it is actually coming from two sources. In trying to convert my email clients to IMAP, I went to my hosting control panel and had my main email address forwarded to my google email address. So, the email is on both my hosting server (hostmonster.com) and gmail. I am reading it with POP from hostmonster, and IMAP from Google.

So I am trying to get the view from the pop folder to the IMAP folder. I am on Outlook 2010, so I have Manage Views... instead of Define Views...

So, to reply to your questions, the views are on the POP Inbox, and they are set to All Mail and Post Folders. I am not sure what you mean by "all folders/everyone." I see the All... option, but I do not see the everyone option, except when I copy the view, and it is one of the options other than All...

The view is not available to the IMAP Inbox below. As I said, I was able to copy the Sent To view, but none of the user defined views. :(

The method on your Outlook Tips page also did not work. It talks about two PST files, and I could not follow whether or not you wanted me to create another PST file also. (I thought not because you told me to start at step 4.) I opened the PST Inbox Manage Views... and tried to copy. The view never shows up as an option on the IMAP Inbox folder.

So I gave up and copied all my views to the IMAP folders. Now I have added an exchange account to Outlook. ALL my views on both my original file AND my IMAP file have all disappeared. What a deal!!

Views are stored in the default pst file, so when you added the exchange account and made it default, its views are used, not the ones you made earlier.

Thank you and that makes sense, because I deleted the exchange account, and all my views came back.
