"lock" a message so it can not be deleted

In Outlook 2007 is it possible to "lock" a message to prevent it from being deleted by accident? I have some saved mail that I need to refer back to from time to time. While multi tasking like everyone else I may not close that reference e-mail when finished. Later in the day I have so many windows open I glance at them and delete what I can. Trying to prevent accidentally deleting a few I wish to retain in my archives...
 
Sorry, not you can't lock them. If your problem is autoarchive deleting them, you can tag them for "Do not AutoArchive" but that won't help you with accidental deletes.
