Hello Everyone,

Is there a find and replace feature in Outlook 2016? Especially in Tasks? Because I have a lot of tasks that have repeated information that by one click of a replace feature I can rename or remove the repeated information.

If not, is there an add-in I can get?

Thank you!!!!

No, there isn't a find and replace that would replace word a in a subject with word b in all tasks (or words in the body). There might be an addin but I'm not sure if it works with outlook 2016. A macro could it.

Thank you Diane! I have never done a macro before. I will search google for some articles, but if you have some that I could use to learn more about Macros please let me know!

Thank you!

I have bits and pieces that can be put together to do it - I'd start with this macro to work with selected items - Working with All Items in a Folder or Selected Items - then you just need to use the VBA replace function. You can use inputbox to get the words you are searching for and the what you want to replace it with.

this is a quick sample - you need to use spaces before or after to find whole words and the correct case.

Code:
Public Sub SearchTasks()
    Dim objOL As Outlook.Application
    Dim objItems As Outlook.Items
    Dim objFolder As Outlook.MAPIFolder
    Dim obj As Object
    Dim strFind As String
    Dim strReplace As String

    Set objOL = Outlook.Application
    Set objFolder = objOL.ActiveExplorer.CurrentFolder
    Set objItems = objFolder.Items

Set obj = objItems(1)
  If Not obj.MessageClass = "IPM.Task" Then
  MsgBox "Select Task folder"
  Exit Sub
  End If

strFind = InputBox("Find string:")
strReplace = InputBox("Replace with:")

    For Each obj In objItems

obj.Subject = replace(obj.Subject, strFind, strReplace)

    obj.Save

    Next

    Set obj = Nothing
    Set objItems = Nothing
    Set objFolder = Nothing
    Set objOL = Nothing
End Sub
