Setup an employee with a new computer. Using Microsoft 365 for the office suite and connecting to Exchange Online.
His previous computer was setup to store 1 year of emails locally using cached exchange mode and it worked perfectly.
On the new computer it will try to build the offline OST file and gets to the end of the process and gets stuck with "Updating Inbox (1 B)".
Outlook will not show any new Emails in this state so it is not functional for the user.
Things we have tried.
- Shut Down Outlook and erased the OST files to start fresh.
- Gradually built the offline OST files by starting with 1 month and working our way up. It will function at 6 months but when you push it to a year it gets stuck with the "Updating Inbox (1 B)" message. We checked his old computer and that is working just fine which is strange.
Has anyone seen this issue before and is there any ideas on what to try to fix it.
