My wife's computer is having trouble with Outlook 2016 crashing. I've seen error 0xe0000001. This appears to be an "unknown error" error. This will happen with Outlook just sitting there, or you can be typing away and get it.
I also find that her PST file gets corrupted and needs to be fixed with Scanpst. Yes, I run Scanpst multiple times. I have her set up with two pst files to keep her default pst smaller. That default pst file is on old Outlook 97-2003 format, the second one is the newer format.
I see two paths here; convert the old format file to the new format, or do that plus uninstall Office, run an MS clean tool, and reinstall. Obviously I'd prefer to not reinstall Office if it not necessary. I don't think that any of the other Office programs have problems.
The machine runs Windows 7.
Any suggestions?
