I need to purchase a version of Office for my wife to use for personal and some voluntary Girl scout and charity work. It's mainly for OL but Excel will be almost as equally needed followed by Word and she'll probably never use PP. We do not want any of Microsoft's subscription service and they;ve majorly limited one's options for non-subscription choices but you still can get 1 time purchase keys. I looked at the version for Office 2021 but it's pricey and wee on a budget. I found that Walmart still has some Office 2019 keys at 1/4th to 1/5th what Office 2021 is for. SO my Q to you guys is what do you think of Going with what would be OL 2019 instead of OL 2021 for the scenario I described?
My job has been on Office 365 for a while and I don't even recall what OL 2019 was like vs now but I don't recall it being bad. That said there is teh factor of support. I believe OL 2019 extended support has ended yet but it will come sooner than OL 2021 will and I don't know if extended support would work if you are just now getting OL 2019 so there's that.
So what do you guys think of using OL 2019 today in a personal/home use like scenario? My wife isn't an IT/computer type but shes paranoid enough to not click on anything that is slightly suspicious.
Thanks for any feedback and I hope this isn't considered not the right place to ask this kind of Q.
