Imap read/unread problem

Hello,

I know IMAP has been designed to sync with the server so if a particular mail is read on PC1, then it'll automatically
show as read without opening on PC2, PC3 so on and so forth which is what I don't want. I was looking for a solution, if available, and did manage to find two
links but its not working.

Who has already read that message in our shared mailbox? - MSOutlook.info

We have a shared mailbox at work where, amongst others, informational messages are coming in. Usually they end up hanging there for days because nobody knows who has read it already and who hasn't. Is there a way in Outlook to find out who have read the message?

There is no error message. There is a shared mailbox configured on 4 computers all with IMAP protocol and all running Outlook 2019(Desktop app).

The problem is when the mail is read on pc1, it automatically shows as read on pc2, pc3 even when that mail is not opened by the user on pc2, pc3 respectively. I've read about this and understand that that's how IMAP works.

What I am looking for is a workaround that when the mail is opened on pc1 it should show as unread on pc2, pc3 until the user opens that mail.

I found those workarounds as posted in the first message but those aren't explained thoroughly or maybe I am missing out on something.

Please help.
