IMAP mail sync is extremely slow

Email synchronization over IMAP is extremely slow. There are more than 1000 emails in total. It took almost one day to sync only around 200 emails. Every time Outlook is closed and reopened, only a few more emails get synced.

The same account works fine with Foxmail on the same PC and network. This issue only occurs on New Outlook for Windows.
 
New Outlook syncs using the Microsoft cloud - the cloud server pulls mail from the IMAP server and stores it then when new Outlook connects, syncs it. It sounds like either your server is blocking the Microsoft cloud or something is broken. Try removing the account from Outlook and adding it back. If asked if you want to remove it from all devices, say yes so the online cache is cleared.
