Trying to move messages between imap accounts/folders

I have set up a "Quick Step" to move the current message to my All Mail folder on one of my (many) Gmail accounts - this is the folder I use for my consolidated "archive." All of my email accounts are imap. The quick step sometimes seems to work, and I almost immediately see the new account/folder reflected in my message list (my view shows the account + folder) - but sometimes it does not. So I send/receive, thinking that the messages have to be synced to move, and I still see no change. This happens, sometimes, even if I manually move the message, without using the Quick Step.

What does it take to get my view of my message list to update the account and folder?
 
Are you moving the mail to one All Mail folder or to the All Mail folder in one account?

Did you have the all mail folder showing before you created the quick step? By default, the all mail folder is hidden (because it creates duplicates when synced as imap) and you need enable it.

to show the all mail folder:

From volume 26 Number 12 (slipstick.com)
  1. Right-click the IMAP Inbox in Outlook.
  2. Choosing IMAP folders...
  3. Click Query to load the folder list.
  4. The All Mail folder will be displayed as subscribed - select it and click the Sign Out button.
  5. Click the Query button again to reload the Folder List.
  6. Select the All Mail folder and subscribe.
  7. Close the dialog box.
  8. Right-click the [Gmail] folder and create a new folder.
  9. Call it all Mail.
The email should be synced in a few minutes.

I'm not sure what you mean, by the first question. I have multiple gmail, outlook.com, and other imap accounts. I want to move messages from any of these accounts to a specific account's All Mail folder.

I definitely already have access to and see the target All Mail folder. Here's what I see in search results, with my custom view:

Note that the red messages are highlighted via conditional formatting in the view, which should indicate which messages are already in my desired "archive" folder. If you look at the 4th message in the list, you'll see one that's archived (right account, right folder). The one immediately above it is, when I open the message and ctrl+shift+f, actually ALSO in that desired folder - but the email account column still shows the original account it was received in. In other words, the message has been moved from the Inbox on a Comcast.net account to the All Mail folder on my GMail account - but the Email Account doesn't get updated.

How can I get the view's "Email Account" folder to reflect the account that I moved the message to?

This is what I was wondering.

The email account column should show the account it was received on. Outlook data file should show the location it is currently.
 
Thank you, @Diane! Guess I need to explore those columns to see what more of them mean! I had no idea that one was there, and never would've guessed it was useful.

Quick follow-up question on this, @Diane Poremsky - I'm trying to use that "Outlook Data File" column in conditional formatting. My criteria is that if the email is in a specific data file (Outlook Data File contains "xxx") and specific folder (Folder = "All Mail"), it should be highlighted in red. Previously, I highlighted if the Email Account was "xxx," and it worked sometimes. Now, it never works. Is there a trick to using the Outlook Data File column in a conditional format?
