Email was migrated from GoDaddy to Microsoft exchange. We lost IMAP ability

I could use some input here. I am new to the forum and I hope that I have posted this in the correct section. My company had our emails hosted with Godaddy since 2012 until everything was moved over to Microsoft office 365 exchange in 2022. Effective 06/01/2023 you can no longer access your emails via a desktop outlook program like outlook 2016 or outlook 2019 without being singed into the exchange server. In other words, IMAP is now blocked by Exchange and requires login with exchange settings. Our issue is that this now causes our case management software to be hindered because we have lose the ability to email directly through client cases with our software management system. The case management software requires IMAP to transmit emails through outlook as it records to each case. Does anyone have a work around for this? We have $11k valued of software that is now rendered almost useless for us as far as updating notes from that system to the emails.

Also, does anyone know how to be signed into outlook exchange without being signed on to every other Office product at the same time? We are testing something on the side.

On IMAP: the software runs through Outlook? If it connected directly to the server using IMAP it would work - but only if it supported oauth.

I have a couple of clients who want to use POP - I recommended they switch to ionos.

Signing in: after you enter the address and password - Outlook brings up a big dialog that says stay signed in and in the lower left a link (in smaller letters) to sign in only to the app.

Go into Windows Settings - Accounts and find work or school accounts. Disconnect the account.
Then open registry editor, go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Common\Identity\Identities\
and delete each subkey on the left where your GoDaddy address is on the right.

The next time you open outlook, it should ask for the password - then the above dialog.

The sign into all option applies corporate policies - but there should not be any policies created or applied (because few small businesses or individuals would mess with that).
