For the 18 months or so, I have had constant issues with text jumping around, overlapping rows over each other or text disappearing suddenly in the body of emails. If I click around a few times, it will all reappear, and everything is okay. This occurs throughout the day but not with every email. If I hover my mouse over the folders sometimes the folders will jump around and another folder will shadow over the folder I have my mouse pointed at. I will also find instances where Excel will open randomly or will open on a reboot. I also sometimes find it running as a process in the background when not open on the desktop. All of this happens with regular frequency. I bought a new computer a few months ago and figured the issue would resolve itself when I did a new install of Microsoft 365 on a new machine. That is not the case. The Outlook issues moved with the computer.
I have seen some similar posts with the same text jumping with Word, but nothing there seems to apply to my issue. This makes me think my Outlook profile is corrupt, but I don't have this issue on any of my laptops. I have created customs views for Tasks, Contacts and changed the ribbons on my desktop, but no Macros, VBA or other. Simple formatting changes for the most part. I have had these customizations for many versions of Outlook probably going back to Outlook 2000. I recreate them with each new install of Outlook.
This issue does not occur in any other Office applications or any other programs I use.
Old computer had Windows 10 Pro, new computer 11 Pro. Both had 64GB of RAM, i9 processor, mid-level graphics card, so I don't think it's the system specs. Any ideas on how to troubleshoot these issues? How do you reset the profile back to "factory" if the profile might be corrupt and how would you know it was corrupt?
Thanks all!
