Auto changing email subject line in bulk

Hi,

If I am receiving numerous emails from a certain email address, all emails have a file reference, and I want to change the format the reference is presented.

e.g.

File ABC0123 1

And I want to change it to [ABC0123 1] automatically for all emails received from this email address whatever the file reference is. So if it's PEB0516 5 for example soon as I run the macro it automatically changes the received email's subject line to [PEB0516 5] without touching any other word in the email subject line.

Is there a macro that can do this?

Is the entire subject File ABC0123 1 with nothing else in it?

remove file from the subject:
strTemp = replace (aItem.Subject, "File ", "")

replace it
aItem.Subject = "[" & strTemp & "]"

If the subject is File ABC0123 1 Jim Johnson its more difficult because you need to know what to grab. If the code is always 9 characters or will be the only numbers in the subject , that will be easier.

The emails are received from the same email address, subject line is always "ABC0123 1 Name" or something else instead of Name. It will always be the first several characters and numbers in the email subject line, after that there are various topic names etc but the file reference is always there and always appearing first before any other text.
