Help .. got lost ... installing Office like 2016

Intend to install Office on my laptop. On my desktop I use Office 365.
When I install Office on my laptop, Outlook starts in OWA mode, not the 2016, with the toolbars.
Also the icons of Outlook, Excel, etc. are tiny (in the start menu).

I uninstalled Office twice now. Also used the offline installer.

What am I doing wrong?
Should I use the 2016 installer then?

How are you opening Outlook? Don't use the office icon - the outlook icon on it will sometimes open web access. Use the icon on the start menu and pin it to the taskbar.

Right click on an icon, choose resize and choose a bigger size. most of the app have small and medium - a few can be made larger.

Honestly, I am totally confused. Not by your reply, but simply I am installing the wrong way, or the wrong product... I don't know.
So I restored a clean Windows image on my laptop: there are no applications installed, except for the Microsoft default ones.

Now, I want to install Office, but want to have the 2016 layout, i.e. the 'off line' layout, not OWA.

When following the instructions on
Download and install or reinstall Office 365 or Office 2019 on a PC or Mac
and launching Outlook from "Start > Programs" OWA is launched.

Also tried the Offline Installer.

or maybe I am confused and the laptop install will always install a browser based version of Office...?
(Excel is also launched using Edge)
 
Matter solved.

Search for the .exe files (word, excel,outlook)
r-click pin to start.
