what are the downsides of running both classic and new outlook on same win 11 pc?

besides ram and storage, and remembering to update classic regularly?
 
None, really. I almost always have both running. IMHO, hard drive space is a bigger issue than RAM.

If you use imap, classic may get new mail faster and will have older mail. This is because it syncs directly with the iIMAPserver while need Outlook pulls it into the Microsoft cloud, then sync to new outlook.

Classic can archive mail if you need to free up space in the mailbox online.
 
if use imap for classic, can i use that for both of the two MS 365 mailboxes in my local profile?

would it significantly reduce the lag between inbound email showing up on my iphone vs my pc? Procedure?
