How do I add fields to Contact Manager

Outlook 2007. I want to add two fields to the defaul contact manager to

help me manage my Christmas Card List. Note: I do NOT want to use the

Business Contact Manager. I just want to add two boolean fields indicating

whether or not I sent or received a 2009 Christmas card. Thanks

An easy way to do that is in any table view, by using the Fields dialog from

the view settings to add a new field. You can then change the value right

from the view.

Well, actually I have already added the two boolean fields to the database.

Now I want to display and set them somewhere on the default Contact form. I

think there is room at the bottom, but I can easily remove the IM address

field as I never use that. How do I modify that form? I've read your

article at http://www.outlookcode.com/article.aspx?ID=39, but that refers to

Outlook 2000 and I have Outlook 2007. I'm ok with modifying the registry,

but do you use the same tool? .

The form I'm talking about is the one presented when you double-click a

name.

You're putting the cart before the horse if you're reading that article. You

must design the form first. See

Well, I ordered your book from Amazon. I created a form using Outlook Forms

tool. I added the two fields that I wanted, but I'd like to add

"Categorize" and remove the unused tabs at the top.

Looks like the form got saved when I "Publish as". The extra tabs do not

show up. Boy is this unintuitive. So, I guess all I need to know is how to

make the form become the default form for Contacts.

Well, I did that, too. Apparently the secret (to making the form work for

all the previously stored contacts) is to use a free tool called "Document

Message Class" available at

"http://www.plustech.co.uk/Products/docmsgclass.html". (without the

quotes).

Did that as well. Also used Document Message Class which allowed form to be

used to display all existing contacts in new form.
