Add inanimate objects to meetings?

I work in a small corner of a large company. My particular section has a lot of shared equipment between various groups. I want to be able to reserve equipment using Meetings functionality.

Is there a way to add inanimate objects to Outlook? I don’t want to use Rooms for this, because often multiple pieces of equipment will need to be reserved at once for the same operation.

I’ve tried adding the equipment to my contact list, but it won’t populate for meetings unless I provide an email address, and that email address will get spammed every time the equipment is used. Is there a preferred way to add inanimate objects to meetings?
