Outlook Connector only works for a day?!

Hey all,

I recently posted about a problem I was having with Outlook Connector, thinking I'd broken it after initially installing it successfully. So, after removing and reinstalling it, I was delighted when it worked fine all over again. Both my Hotmail and Outlook Pop3 accounts were syncronising in both places and in turn on my Windows phone.

Now 2 days later and having altered nothing, my hotmail emails are only being delivered to Hotmail and my Pop3 account emails only to my Outlook! And subsequently my phone is only syncing to Hotmail!

What's going on?! I've not touched anything but something's changed and not working how I need it!! Is this a common bug? I seem to recall reading something somewhere about Connector only working for a day?!

Any advice would be much appreciated!!

So you want POP3 synced to Hotmail? Go to Tools, Accounts, view or change existing accounts - what folder is set as the default for delivery? This should be where the POP3 account is delivered to - select the hotmail data file if you want the POP3 synced up.




BTW, you should be able to "sync" the phone directly with the POP3 account by creating an email account on the phone - its not true sync as it's only one way (POP3 to phone) so sent items won't sync between the phone and the pop3 server.

Hey Diane! Thanks so much for the reply (I actually hoped to message you directly before I posted, as I'd seen you'd answered a whole bunch of these before and are clearly the person to speak to!!)

So my issue is that when I installed Outlook Connector, it worked brilliantly, like an exchange server, whereby my phone, hotmail and outlook were all synced with each other, all the time. Now, having changed nothing, my Hotmail and Outlook accounts have become independent of each other again. I guess I could just set up my outlook account as a Pop3 on my phone, but I'm really hoping I'll be able to sync them all as they were initially!

This same problem happened a few days ago, then I reinstalled Connector thinking it was something I had done, and it's happened again!

I'm massively confused!! Is there anything you'd suggest I do?

Check in Tools, Email Accounts, view or change - what file is the default delivery location? Screenshot:

If you want your POP3 mail synced with hotmail so the phone can get it without making a pop account on it, make sure the hotmail folder is selected, not personal folders.
