What is wrong with Outlook Connector - it still errors out on an EMPTY Hotmail

After struggling with this thing for weeks now - and completely rebuilding my workstation from scratch using a fresh install of Office 2010 and a fresh install of Outlook Connector AND after practically deleting everything from my Hotmail acct (no email, no calendar events, no nothing - all I have left is my 40 contacts) Connector still kicks up stuff like Synchronization Errors, Windows Live Error 0x8004102A and ALL it's variants.

I am at my wits end here. Is this thing just that useless that it cannot even correctly read a practically empty Hotmail acct without failing?

Any ideas on what I can do next? Because I am about one step away from dumping Outlook completely and going right to Windows Live Mail - which handles everything perfectly.

My primary reason for even bothering with Windows Live is the calendar functions that sync nicely to on my Samsung Android rather than having to mess around with trying to manually sync the phone to my local Outlook every day.

Hoping someone can steer me in the right direction.

Is there a 4 digit error code? That generally helps more with connector errors.

Do any of the contacts have unerscores or other non-alphanumeric characters in the address or name?

Do you have names in the blocked or safe list?

Yes - I have a boatload of error codes. Some of them include are:

0x80004005 - Network Operation Failed

0x80004102A - There was an error syncing your folder hierarchy. The network connection is unavailable or interrupted. Please try again later

0x80004103A - Synchronization Error.

0x8004A165 - Synchronization Error. Unable to synchronize item.

No - I have no contacts with special characters. And to ensure ALL contacts were out of the picture - as part of my testing - I exported ALL the contacts out and ensure every contact was deleted on the Hotmail side. So there were no contacts at all to sync - and it still threw errors.

No names or anything in any blocked or safe senders list. (from the Outlook side - and none on the Hotmail side)

Still hoping for some ideas on what to check :)
